By 2013 FantasyBowl's old 2006 logo was looking a little long in the tooth. It had numerous issues, lack of symetry, outdated colors, font problems and overall was a bit too "pointy". In 2014 that was resolved with the new "geometric" version of the logo, complete with an updated color scheme.

FantasyBowl, a product of Opcode, had been around since 1999 and it looked like it. It desperately needed a redesign effort to bring it up to date. This is the result of our new marketing effort to draw in more players. It worked. Our revenue grew the following 3 years by over 50% after having been flat for the prior 6 years.

Evolve is a gaming service that allows friends to stay conntected no matter what game they are playing. For the next big push to their interface, Evolve wanted strategy and UX/IA work around online streaming of games.

The idea was to turn the site from the current static experience into one more dynamic, showing at a glance what was going on at any given time. This meant new ways to show acitivity and bubbling up content happening right now to make the site feel more alive and active.

Opcode Branding

Opcode Inc is a company founded by myself and Mark Larimer to produce products of alternative gaming concepts, one of which is fantasy sports. The word "opcode" comes from "operation code" that specifies and operation to be performed in a computer.

The logo is simply the word "opcode" in morse code form. The fill of the morse code can be any color or pattern. In fact, it was made in a way that is easily re-creatable with simple CSS on a website, and thus can house an animated gif background as the fill, which is the normal way the logo is presented.
